August Tree (10-12-2017) -- for Heather Heyer

I took this photograph of a tree growing out of the stone outcropping at nearby Fort Pheonix, Fairhaven, Massachusetts only moments after learning the news about Heather Heyer - - a tree I'd been considering how to best photograph for some months. In the middle of the evening news I got up, grabbed my camera, and went out into the rain to take this specific picture.
